<p style="text-align: justify;">Long poème en vers, écrit en occitan languedocien. <br /><br />Le poème s'articule comme un récit qui relate précisément les faits de la journée du 11 août 1770 et fait mention de plusieurs personnages. La narration est quelques fois entrecoupée de dialogues rapportés au discours direct ou indirect.<br /><br />L'auteur du poème est Marc-Antoine Martin né à Ceilhes en 1737 et mort à Montpellier en 1821. D'abord prieur du diocèse de Béziers, vicaire à Murviel puis curé, il quitte le clergé à la Révolution. Une partie de ses textes est composée de satires contre le clergé de Béziers et contre son vicaire général l'abbé Daydé.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dans son poème l'abbé Martin prend soin d'écrire au bas de certaines pages des notes indicatives en français. Elles précisent des noms de lieux, et parfois les fonctions occupées par certains ecclésiastes dont il est question dans le poème.<br /><br />Ce poème est plus connu sous le nom de <em>La partido de mar</em> sous lequel il a été publié en 1842.<br /><br /><strong>Références bibliographiques :</strong><span> </span><br /><span>- </span><em>Poésios biterouèsos dés XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles coumposados per diverses autous.</em> [éd. par Etienne Sabatier], Béziers : impr.
