<div style="text-align: justify;">Batisto Bonnet (1844-1925) est majoral du Félibrige en 1897. Il est généralement connu pour ses mémoires historiques et ses pièces de théâtre. Son oeuvre principale est son autobiographie "Vido d'enfant" qui a notamment été traduite en français par Alphonse Daudet.<br /><br />Dans cette nouvelle inédite, l'auteur raconte comment un charretier meurt de son sentiment de culpabilité après avoir accidentellement tué la fille d'un fermier. Le premier manuscrit est la version originale en occitan de cette nouvelle et le second est sa traduction française.</div>
