<p style="text-align: justify;">Journal du XIXème siècle, dont les différents écrits sont datés de 1855 à 1873. Jour après jour, l'auteur nous livre ses réflexions littéraires suite à ses lectures personnelles. Entre autres nombreuses références, on note l'évocation des Idylles poétiques de Théocrite dont Camille Chabaneau fait ici une étude détaillée. Camille Chabaneau était membre de l'Académie des Jeux Floraux et fut élu Majoral du Félibrige en 1876.</p>
