<div><strong style="text-align: start;">Contes e racontes de velhada<br /></strong><br />Ah, la veillée !<br /><br />On se retrouve dans le cantou (<em>canton</em>), la vaste cheminée, coeur de la maison, pour casser les noix (<em>rascals</em>), préparer les feuilles de tabac (<em>tabat</em>) ou égrainer le maïs (<em>milh</em>). La veillée est une manière conviviale de clôturer une rude journée de labeur par un travail plus tranquille et surtout collectif, assis au coin du feu. Si elle est synonyme d’entraide et de convivialité, c’est parce qu’elle existe dans un contexte de relative promiscuité (trois générations vivent souvent sous le même toit), de faible mécanisation des tâches et bien sûr, d’absence de médias tels que radio et télévision jusque dans les années 60.<br /><br />Toute la famille s’y retrouve, et parfois les voisins s’y joignent.
